DP Poland, the London-listed operator of Domino's pizza stores and restaurants in Poland and Croatia, reported a significant increase in system sales for the year 2023. The company saw a 20% surge in system sales in Poland on a like-for-like basis compared to the previous year, with a particularly strong fourth quarter performance. Full-year system orders also witnessed a solid growth of 16%.
In Croatia, DP Poland achieved a 3.2% increase in system sales on a like-for-like basis. This growth was supported by the successful opening of two new stores that exceeded sales expectations. Despite inflationary pressures caused by the transition of Croatian currency to the Euro, which negatively impacted consumer confidence, the company managed to maintain positive sales growth.
Looking ahead, DP Poland remains optimistic about its future growth prospects. The company expects its volume-led growth to continue, driven by an easing of inflationary pressures and the expected formation of a new pro-European parliament following the recent Polish election.
"The business now has the solid foundations required for future expansion and in 2024 will begin the transition of the company towards a more widespread sub-franchised business model," the company stated.
Overall, DP Poland's performance in 2023 demonstrates its ability to adapt to market conditions and capitalize on opportunities for growth. With a strategic focus on expanding its sub-franchised business model, the company is well-positioned for further success in 2024 and beyond.
