European stocks saw a decline on Tuesday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index finishing down 1.10% to 440.70.
Index Performance
The German DAX declined by 1.06% to 15,085.21, while the French CAC 40 index fell by 1.01% to 6,997.05 and the FTSE 100 index dropped 0.54% to 7,470.16.
Top Losers
Among the constituents of the Stoxx Europe 600 index, EDP Renovaveis S/A saw the largest decrease as shares fell by 8.1%. Forvia SE and ams-OSRAM AG weakened by 7.7% and 6.9% respectively. NEL ASA and MorphoSys AG also experienced significant declines, with their stocks falling by 6.4% and 6.2% respectively.
Top Gainers
On the other hand, CD Projekt S.A. saw the largest increase among the Stoxx Europe 600 constituents, as shares added 6.9% on Tuesday. Orpea S.A. and Carlsberg A/S Series B also performed well, with their stocks increasing by 4.2% and 3.4% respectively. Nokian Renkaat Oyj and Chr. Hansen Holding A/S rounded out the top five largest increases, as their stocks added 2.6% and 2.4% respectively.
Currency and Commodity Performance
The pound was down 0.16% against the dollar, while the euro decreased by 0.23% against the dollar. Brent crude added 0.58% to reach $91.24.
Bond Yields
The yield on the 10-year gilt increased by 3.02 basis points to 4.600%, and the yield on the German 10-year bund rose by 4.210 basis points to 2.97%.
