Shell Plc has recently announced the availability of Shell Renewable Diesel at 75 of its stations in Los Angeles. This move is part of Shell's commitment to providing low-carbon, environmentally friendly fuel options. With a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 65% compared to conventional diesel, Shell Renewable Diesel is a sustainable alternative that can be used in any diesel engine.
Cleaner-Burning Fuel with Enhanced Combustion
Renewable Diesel (RD) offered by Shell is known for its cleaner-burning properties. It boasts a cetane rating of at least 70, delivering a more complete combustion in diesel engines. In contrast, conventional diesel has a cetane rating of 53. The higher cetane rating of RD ensures improved performance and efficiency.
Two Blends for Maximum Sustainability
Shell offers two blends of Shell Renewable Diesel: R95B5 and R99.9. R95B5 consists of 95% renewable diesel and 5% biodiesel, while R99.9 is composed of 99.9% renewable diesel. Both blends provide customers with a renewable fuel product that is 99.9% sustainable, contributing to a cleaner environment.

A Growing Trend in the Industry
